16 July to 25 July

Terrorism/Insurgency: High-Terrorist activities remained quite high in KPK, tribal agencies and Balochistan.
Threat Level: High –The terrorist groups like TTP, Daesh and BLA keep striking at the security forces and soft targets in these provinces/areas.
Level of Sectarianism & Religious Extremism: Medium-Simmering through the society but controlled. Burning of the Holy Quran in Sweden has provoked a vast majority. Untoward incident cannot be ruled out.
Border Situation: Low- After one firing incident by the Indian forces a few weeks ago, the situation at the LOC has again calmed down. There is an uneasy calm at the Western border (Pak-Afghan).
Social Unrest: Moderate-Simmering-primarily due to exorbitant price hike and political unrest. Astronomical rise in electricity tariff has perturbed all and sundry.
Political situation: Moderate- Fluid and unstable. Political polarisation is badly affecting governance and the ailing economy.
Economic situation: Weak– The deal with the IMF and $2 billion deposits provided by Saudi Arabia have energised the otherwise grim economic situation.
Security of Businesses/MNEs: Businesses and MNEs are satisfied with the security measures and overall environment except for a few areas.
Food Security: Satisfactory– The Federal Committee on Agriculture FCA expressed satisfaction over food security situation in the country.
Climate Security: Threatening. Torrential rains and floods-on-steroids are causing floods across the country. Rivers Ravi and Sutlej are also in high floods due to excess water released by India.
Security of Foreigners/Chinese: Enhanced. Good measures are in place.
