BALOCHISTAN
CTD police reportedly killed two terrorists (names not known) in Hazargangi area in Quetta district (6 October).
The Project Manager of Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC), Sohbat Mirza, travelling in a vehicle, was killed while his driver injured in the roadside IED blast at Sor Range area near Quetta (7 October).
Security forces reportedly killed two terrorists (names not known) in Zerbar area of Kech district (7 October).
Unidentified armed motorcyclist killed one Karimullah near Jhalwan Complex in Khuzdar district (9 October).
Two soldiers including Major Syed Ali Raza Shah (Age 31 years, resident of Sargodha District) and Havaldar Nisar Ahmed (Age 38 years, resident of Vehari District) embraced martyrdom during exchange of fire with terrorists in an IBO at Sambaza area of Zhob district (9 October). Five terrorists were also killed in this incident.
Comments & Analysis: The data compiled by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) said the number of militant attacks in August 2023 was the highest tally for monthly strikes in almost nine years. There were 99 attacks across the country, the highest number in a single month since November 2014, the report had said. It means the insurgents and militants are more emboldened, organized and well-equipped than ever. They have the strategic depth in the safe havens in Afghanistan. The facilitators and sleeper cells within the country must be eliminated.
Unknown gunmen barged in the house of one Abdul Karim and killed him and his wife In Gondan area of Jhal Magsi (10 October
Bullet-riddled body of one Jameel Ahmed kidnapped earlier was found near Naseerabad crossing. Outlawed BLA claimed responsibility of this act (12 October).
The dead bodies of two persons identified as Ejaz Murad and Bahadur were found in Mand and Karim Abad area in Kech district (12 October).
Unidentified terrorists barged into a house in Turbat, killed six labourer and injured two athers who all belonged to Multan, Punjab. The deceased were identified as Rizwan, Shehbaz, Waseem, Shafiq Shamed and Muhommad Naeem (14 October).
Comments & Analysis: These labourers belonged to Shujabad, Multan. The Baloch separatists usually target these hapless persons from other provinces, especially Punjab to give vent to their resentment and anger. The district administration should direct the companies that hire the labour and workforce from other provinces to ensure their protection. SOPs should be devised and circulated for better security environment. The perpetrators must be hunted down and brought to book through necessary legal process.
Security forces killed a senior commander of out lawed BLA Majeed Brigade identified as Saddam Hussain @ Muslim @ Guru @ Jabbar and his associate Maqsood in an IBO. He was reportedly involved in 93 cases of terrorism, killings and attacks on the security forces with the main area of his activities in Gawader and Kech district (15 October).

The Security forces, in an IBO, killed 10 terrorists during exchange of fire in Tank district (3 October).
Police claims to have arrested four terrorists affiliated with Afghanistan based defunct TTP Sajjad Group in Buner district (4 October).
Police and security forces in a joint operation killed a high profiled terrorist identified as Habit who was carrying six million rupees head money in Dera Ismail Khan district (5 October).
Two youth – Noor Khan and Tariq Aziz were killed by unknown assalients in separate incidents at Bolmbat and Qandhari village of Mayar in Lower Dir district (6 October).
The driver of a Police mobile van was reportedly martyred, and three other cops injured in a rocket attack on their vehicle at Elum Gohar area in Buner district (7 October).
Security forces killed a terrorist identified as Azeemullah @ Ghazi in Razmak area of North Waziristan district (8 October).
Police constable Wakilzada was martyred and another sustained injury while repulsing terrorist rocket and gunfire attack of terrorists on Hathala police station in Dera Ismail Khan district (9 October).
Security forces killed a wanted terrorist identified as Ikramullah in Kalachi area of Dera Ismail Khan district (11 October).
Security forces killed a terrorist (name not known) in Miranshah area of North Waziristan district (11 October).
The security forces, in an IBO, killed six terrorists in Murali area of North Waziristan district. During the exchange of fire Sepoy Abdul Hakeem also embraced martyrdom (13 October).

Unidentified gunmen kidnapped two persons – Naseeb Mangi and Mahmood Mangi from Kandkot in Kashmore district. Decoit’s gangs are being suspected behind the kidnapping icident (3 Oct).
Heavily armed persons kidnapped a police constable from Abad Milani area of Shikarpur district. A gang of dacoits is suspected to be involved in this incident as a pressure tact to secure release of its recently arrested gang member Sonaro Jatoi in exchange (6 October).
Police Head Constable Jamshed Chaher was martyred in targeted killing by dacoits at Qadar Mir in Jacobabad district (7 October).
Police Sub Inspector Amir Ali was martyred by unknown shooters near Chakar Mor, M-9 Highway, Karachi (8 October).
AFGHANISTAN
A senior commander of outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) named Attiqur Rehman @ Tipu Gul Marwat was reportedly killed in Kunar Province (12 October).
As a result of suicide bomb blast in Jumma prayer seven people were killed and over 15 injured in Imam Zamana Mosque in Pul.i Khumri capital of Baghlan province. ISS-K/Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack (14 October).
According to unconfirmed sources due to a powerful bomb blast over 20 commanders of TTP were killed and several others injured in a signficant meeting discussing to chalkout future stategy in the Kunar province. The killed terrorists reportedly included Anwar @ Khoja and Tariq @ Phelwan while the injured inclded Qari Amjad @ Hazrat Mufti (reportedly Deputy Amir of TTP) and Hafeezullah @ Kochwan. It is learnet that many such commanders are wanted in number of terrorism cases in Pakistan.
Comments & Analysis: Killing of a number of TTP commanders might have taken place due to the internal strife in the outfit. TTP, however, has not officially confirmed the incident so far. It is an established fact that the safe sanctuaries of TTP exist in Kunar, Paktika, Khost and Nangarhar provinces of Afghanistan (16 October) They keep carrying out incursions into Pakistan for terrorists activities and their high-command is safely ensconced there to oversee these activities without much trouble from the Afghan Taliban government.
