Analysis and Comments
According to analysts, Bangladesh’s foreign policy in 2025–26 shows a shift toward greater flexibility, with improved ties with Pakistan and stronger economic and defence cooperation with China, while relations with India weakened during the interim administration of Chief Adviser Dr. Yunus. The new approach reflects a shift from earlier strain toward cautious re-engagement between Dhaka and New Delhi. Although not as close as during former PM Sheikh Hasina’s era, both sides aim to rebuild ties due to economic, geographic, and security imperatives.
